TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is the most important company you’ve never heard of, for its semiconductor chips are everywhere, in iPhones, air conditioning units, smart doorbells, computers, cars, F-35 fighters jets, NASA’s Perseverance Rover, etc. TSMC produces 92% of the most advanced semiconductor chips in the world. TSMC and Samsung are the only two companies in the world that mass produce chips below 10 nanometers. Important to note: TSMC has factories in U.S. as well as in China, however, its most advanced factories are in Taiwan for security reasons.
