Hi, Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on the red links below and note magenta)
Welcome to Windermere Sun at www.WindermereSun.com, an online publication for sharing and promoting Community ABC’s (Activities-Businesses-Collaborations) for Windermere, FL. It officially begins in April, 2014.
After working over quarter of a century as an engineer, applied mathematician, medical researcher, and as a university math professor in Mid-West (state of Illinois), I’ve made the move down to Florida with my husband largely due to our love for Disney. Initially as snow-birds, but soon we uprooted ourselves completely from Illinois because of the warmth, lushness, lay-back pace of life, and friendly people offered by Central Florida region. We officially became full-time Floridians in 2006.
From 2011 to 2013, I’ve gained some experience (managed to have reached readers/viewers in 167 countries) running Sun Is The Future (www.SunIsTheFuture.net), an online educational advocacy site for solar energy, aiming to speed up our earthly transition toward renewable/solar energy by:
- spreading information and knowledge for solar energy (www.sunisthefuture.net, www.youtube.com/user/sunisthefuture, www.pinterest.com/sunisthefuture, www.instagram.com/sunisthefuture, www.facebook.com/sunisthefuture, https://plus.google.com/+SunisthefutureNet)
- helping entrepreneurs to establish small businesses in solar energy/renewable energy/energy efficiency/recycling (www.kiva.org/team/sunisthefuture) throughout planet earth via microfinance at Sunisthefuture Team at Kiva
- establishing Sunisthefuture Online Store (aka Sunshine Online Store) at www.sunisthefuture.com to enable Sun Is The Future to be a self-sustaining organization while continuing expanding the support for Sunisthefuture Team at Kiva
Recently, I’ve noticed that our local Windermere Farmer’s Market vendors
seem to be in need of some help with promotion. This led me to believe that there may be a lot of other local small businesses or organizations with similar needs. Given the fact that marketing is a critical element for any business to succeed and most small businesses simply cannot afford huge marketing budget (as some large corporations have), plus the fact that we are living in the cyber age. Hence, the birth of Windermere Sun (www.WindermereSun.com). I am hoping to provide a platform (online service) to help share and promote various activities (e.g. neighborhood parties, meetup groups, workshops, home-schools, neighborhood concerns/forums, etc.), local businesses (e.g. farmer’s markets, restaurants, real estates, handyman- tutoring-caring services, etc.) and collaborations (giveaways, bartering or trading, sharing, etc.) of the Windermere, FL area. More will be explained in “About Windermere Sun” page. I am open to suggestions. Please always feel free to contact me with any of your concerns/questions/suggestions via my email: info.WindermereSun@gmail.com Let’s strengthen our community by sharing, communicating, and helping one another.:-)
