On November 21, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had launched a new intermediate-range ballistic missile, named “Oreshnik,” targeting a military-industrial facility in Dnipro, Ukraine. This missile, reportedly capable of speeds exceeding Mach 10, was described by Putin as a response to Ukraine’s use of Western-supplied long-range missiles, specifically the U.S.-made ATACMS and British Storm Shadow, in attacks on Russian territory.(AP News )
In his address, Putin criticized the United States and the United Kingdom for permitting Ukraine to strike targets within Russia, warning that such actions escalate the conflict towards a global scale. He emphasized that Russia reserves the right to retaliate against countries supplying Ukraine with these weapons, suggesting potential strikes on U.S. and British military facilities.(Reuters )
Regarding President-elect Donald Trump, Putin expressed a willingness to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine upon Trump’s assumption of office. However, he stipulated stringent conditions, including Ukraine abandoning its aspirations for NATO membership and recognizing Russian control over occupied territories. These demands indicate Russia’s firm stance on maintaining its territorial gains and influence in the region.(The Sun )
The deployment of the Oreshnik missile and Putin’s statements underscore the escalating tensions between Russia and Western nations, highlighting the complexities facing the incoming U.S. administration in addressing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

World geopolitics is entering a new milestone with the risky nature of the war in Ukraine. The new understanding of the shifting nuclear doctrines of Russia, China and the United States makes the horizons uncertain. For more than three decades after the end of the Cold War, the United States and its allies did not face a serious nuclear threat. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Russian President Vladimir Putin is rattling his nuclear saber in a manner reminiscent of Soviet leaders. The West is deeply concerned by Vladimir Putin’s new nuclear doctrine, which does not exclude the use of nuclear weapons in the Ukraine conflict. The latest Nuclear Doctrine of the Russian Federation now states that an attack by a non-nuclear state, if supported by a nuclear power, will be considered a joint attack on Russia. In response to nuclear threat scenarios, Kiev has called on its supporters in the West to intervene in the Russia-North Korea axis, which it argues would have negative consequences for the security of Europe and Asia. In recent days, however, it was surprisingly China that warned Russia about the nuclear issue. Beijing has been silent on this issue for a long time. However, now that the Kremlin has adopted the new nuclear doctrine, China has broken its silence. Even China has said enough is enough against Russia’s move. Will Putin heed these warnings from the Beijing government? In the video published on Nov 26, 2024, by Oracle Eyes, as “CHINA SAYS “ENOUGH!” TO RUSSIA: “NO MORE NUCLEAR THREAT”“, below:

Russia’s war against Ukraine has been driven as much by events in the air as by territorial gains on the front lines. Both the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian occupation forces have increasingly relied on combat drones, but cruise and ballistic missiles are still important tools. While cruise missiles fly at a constant altitude and are capable of maneuvering or changing course, a ballistic missile is typically a faster, unguided projectile that is launched by a rocket engine and describes a high arc before descending toward its target. Bloomberg named the main missiles used by Ukraine and Russia in this war. What missiles does Ukraine use to strike Russia and occupied territories. ATACMS. The US-made Army Tactical Missile System, known as ATACMS, is a supersonic surface-to-surface guided ballistic missile with a range of approximately 300 km. It can carry both conventional and cluster munitions and is launched from HIMARS or M270 MLRS platforms. Just over a year ago, the United States allowed Ukraine to use shorter-range ATACMS against targets in Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine. In November 2024, Washington allowed Ukrainian troops to use these missiles against some targets in the Russian Federation. The Bryansk region was the first to come under ATACMS fire, in the video published on Nov 26, 2024, by Kanal13, as “From ATACMS to Oreshnik: Ukraine strikes Russia with three devastating supersonic missiles“, below:
