A second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump occurred on September 15, 2024, at Trump National Golf Club in Florida. Trump was unharmed during the incident, thanks to the quick actions of Secret Service agents. The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was found hiding in the bushes near the course with an AK-47-style rifle, two backpacks, and a GoPro camera. Secret Service agents spotted the weapon and engaged Routh, who fled the scene but was later arrested.
Routh, a 58-year-old from North Carolina with a history of criminal behavior, has been charged with firearm-related offenses. Authorities are still investigating his motives, though he has expressed anti-Trump sentiments online. This is the second attempt on Trump’s life in recent months, following a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania in July 2024 (UPI)(WashEx)(The Daily Signal).
