Good news for all Floridians!
Disney and Governor Ron DeSantis have reached a settlement in their longstanding dispute. This agreement ends a legal conflict over control of the district governing Disney World in Florida. The settlement will see Disney drop a lawsuit related to public records and acknowledges previous agreements with the district as void, allowing for new negotiations. This marks a significant step towards resolving tensions between Disney and the Florida government, focusing on collaborative governance and development in Central Florida.
In a statement by President of Walt Disney World Resort, Jeff Vahle stated, “This agreement opens a new chapter of constructive engagement with the new leadership of the district and serves the interests of all parties by enabling significant continued investment and the creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs and economic opportunity in the state.”
