Is this really happening? The U.S. Department of Justice alleges in the lawsuit filed on Thursday, August 24, 2023, that between September 2018 and May 2022, SpaceX violated the Immigration and Nationality Act by discouraging refugees and asylum recipients from applying for available positions in their marketing materials, rejecting or refusing to hire non-U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Musk said in an X-post, “SpaceX was told repeatedly that hiring any one who was not a permanent resident of the United States would violate international arms trafficking law, which would be a criminal offense. We couldn’t even hire Canadian citizens despite Canada being part of NORAD! This is yet another case of weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes.”
