Did you know that poor oral hygiene would more likely to lead to coronary artery disease and/or Alzheimer? Diversity and function of the microbes living within the mouth are highly influential in terms of our ability to resist disease and remain healthy. Therefore, it is important to understand the importance of our mouth bacteria (microbiome) functions: eliminating 99% of the germs in our mouths, producing NO (nitric oxide) with immune responsibilities and vasodilation capability. In the video below, Dr. Mark Burhenne explains why the key to oral health is to nourish our oral microbiome rather than to disinfect our mouths.
That various microbes in the digestive system affect our health is certainly not news. However, this discussion is typically in the context of the various microbes that live in the gut. Actually, we technically need to begin this understanding at the level of the mouth. And, unfortunately, the idea that our oral microbes are influencing our health has not really gotten a lot of attention. As it turns out the state of health, diversity and function of the microbes living within the mouth are highly influential in terms of our ability to resist disease and remain healthy. Recently, there’s been a lot of research relating the oral microbiome to such maladies as coronary artery disease and even Alzheimer’s disease itself. This will be just one of many fascinating topics in the discussion below, between Dr. David Perlmutter and Dr. Mark Burhenne, in the video published on April 17, 2023, by DavidPerlmutterMD, as “Oral Bacteria And Your Health – with Dr. Mark Burhenne | The Empowering Neurologist EP. 162“, below:
The P. gingivalis mentioned in the video above, aka Porphyromonas gingivalis bacterium, has been shown to destroy gum tissue, and the enzyme which it produces, known as gingipains, are specifically linked to Alzheimer’s disease, were both discovered in the brain tissue of those suffering from the disease. The researchers at the School of Dentistry, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), were the first to report the link between gum disease and Alzheimer’s disease. In 2022, two more studies from the same research group at the School of Dentistry has demonstrated that progress is being made in making much stronger connections between gum disease in the mouth and deteriorating brain function. BTW, SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) is one of the major causes of oral canker by breaking down the oral mucosa and predisposes people to very painful canker sores.
With regard to the topic of fluoride and fluoridated water (Windermere Sun will also post as a separate topic in the next post): Fluoride was proven not to protect teeth but have effect on the brain by affecting the myelin sheath of a neuron and the integrity of the mitochondria in the brain, leading to lowered IQ level and harming babies’ development of nervous system. Fluoride is a byproduct of fertilizer and phosphates, captured at the smokestack in a filter and combined with sodium to become hardened state of fluoride, collected, delivered, and paid for by municipal water supplies to add to the water. United States of America, with about 80% of fluoridated water, is the most fluoriated country in the world.
Keep in mind that:
- 97% of Western Europe has rejected water fluoridation and
- many children now exceed recommended daily fluoride intake from toothpaste alone, and
- fluoride is not an essential nutrient.and
- 64 studies have linked fluoride with reduced IQ in children.

Under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) of 1976, a group of non-profits and individuals petitioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2016, the TSCA Trial, to end the addition of fluoridation chemicals into drinking water due to fluoride’s neurotoxicity. The EPA rejected the petition. In response, the groups sued the EPA in Federal Court in 2017. A 7-day trial was held in June 2020 and the judge has yet to make his ruling as of August 2023. . For more details regarding the Fluoride Lawsuit Against EPA: Alleged Corruption, Shocking Under Oath Federal Statement, by Fluoride Action Network (FAN), with excerpt in italics below:
The Fluoride Action Network (FAN) sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Toxic Substances Control Act in 2017, and it appears to be nearing its conclusion. Under the act, citizens can challenge the EPA in court when the agency rejects a petition to ban or regulate a toxic substance. The FAN’s suit is the first in the 44-year history of the act to actually get to trial.
The lawsuit has included pointed testimony from leading experts on environmental toxins and admissions from both EPA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials that fluoride could be linked to specific harms. The lawsuit has also revealed government interference in crucial scientific findings.
In the short video below, attorney Michael Connett provides an update on the TSCA trial, along with what to expect in 2023, in the video published on Dec. 27, 2022, by fluoridealert, as “FAN attorney Michael Connett gives an update on the progress of the TSCA Fluoride Lawsuit (Dec 2022)“, below:.
If you have not heard of the current Federal lawsuit against the federal EPA over fluoride check it out. In this video Chad Chaddington provides a quick update as to the progress of the trial. Chad Chaddington commented, “They place these chemicals in our drinking water, food, supplements, you name it and they tell us it’s for our benefit. The evidence begs to differ however.” According to leading health experts and scientists in that field, it (Fluoride) is a neurotoxin responsible for increases in ADHD and lowering of IQ, in the video published on Aug 28, 2020, by chad chaddington, as “EPA Fluoride Lawsuit Trial Update“, below:
