U.S. President Joe Biden will mark the second anniversary of the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol with a ceremony at the White House on Friday. Biden is expected to award the “Presidential Citizens Medal” to 12 people who “demonstrated courage and selflessness during a moment of peril for our nation,” a White House official told Reuters. Rioters supporting Trump broke through barricades to invade the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, interrupting the certification of Biden’s 2020 electoral victory.
