A bill to prevent a railroad strike is headed to President Biden for his signature, after it passed the Senate. The U.S. Senate gave its final approval today to impose a settlement on freight railroads and labor unions. The five year deal includes 24% pay raises. It passed with 80 to 15. Senators rejected a separate measure to grant seven days of paid sick leave to railroad workers.
Congress moved swiftly to head off a nationwide railroad strike.
