On Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Elon Musk and/or SpaceX are working to provide Starlink satellite coverage to emergency response crews stranded without dependable communication networks across Southwest Florida. Gov. DeSantis said, “They are positioning those Starlink Satellites to provide good coverage in Southwest Florida and other affected areas..A large satellite device can support over 1,000 users at a given time over a 13-mile radius so that will help bridge some of the connectivity issues.” Governor DeSantis thanked Elon Musk and/or SpaceX for donating the costs associated with all the coverage and being so prompt in offering to help affected Florida residents to remain connected. The Starlink satellite dishes will be distributed to emergency response centers in Lee County, Charlotte County, and various affected Southwest coastal areas of Florida. SpaceX will ship about 120 additional Starlink units to deploy and aid in rescue efforts in the region, in the video published on Oct . 1, 2022, by Forbes Breaking News, as “JUST IN: DeSantis Say ‘We’re Working With Elon Musk’ Post-Hurricane Ian, Details Recovery Steps“, below:
