Just received message from Washington, D.C. regarding the passing of Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, in italics, below:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm issued the following statement today upon the successful vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“The House of Representatives has just secured the most essential piece of President Biden’s strategy for building a secure clean energy economy: the Inflation Reduction Act.
On its own, the Inflation Reduction Act is a triumph of scope and ambition that puts the American people before special interests. The law will unleash American ingenuity to deploy clean energy at a pace and scale that positions us to cut carbon pollution in half by 2030. It will lower the costs of electric vehicles, rooftop solar panels, and energy-efficient home appliances for American families, unlocking hundreds of dollars in savings each year. It makes historic investments to protect and improve land, water, air, and health in underserved communities nationwide, advancing President Biden’s Justice40 initiative. And it will give our National Laboratories the resources to keep the United States on the forefront of scientific discovery.
By enacting the Inflation Reduction Act alongside President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the CHIPS and Science Act, President Biden has put the nation on track to lead the global clean energy market. If we succeed, the world will take on climate change using technologies dreamt up by American innovators, built with American materials, and assembled by American workers.
Of course, more than simply passing laws, success depends on effective implementation. That means the Department of Energy’s work is just beginning. I am confident that as the American people see and feel the benefits from our efforts to transform America’s economy, lower costs, create jobs, and strengthen our national security, we will build momentum and broaden support for further action.
The future is bright—and it will be clean.”
Now Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will head toward President Joe Biden’s desk for signature.
Those who have installed solar in 2022 will be receiving 30% tax credit.

Just a month ago the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 appeared doomed, after an apparent breakdown in Senate negotiations. But an unexpected deal emerged, prompting a party-line vote Sunday that promised $369 billion for incentives to move the nation away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy sources, while putting more drivers in electric cars and making more homes energy efficient. Expert analysis projects the measures will get the U.S. most of the way toward a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030. Market momentum and regulatory tweaks could take care of the rest, in the video streamed on Aug 12, 2022, “House debates Schumer and Manchin’s Inflation Reduction Act | USA TODAY“, below:
