Around 10,000 flights were canceled over the weekend an on Monday, April 4, 2022, leaving people stranded at airports across the country. As travelers, there are certain rights that you may want to be aware of, below:
- Airlines are required to offer refund when canceling flights, no matter what the reason or ticket type.
- While airlines may prefer to rebook your flight, you are not obligated to take it.
- If you opt for refund, you are eligible to get your money back, not just travel credit or voucher.
- Most airlines would book you a hotel if the cancelation is due to the fault of the airline, but do try to book it ASAP, especially is there is mass cancelations.
