Mayor of Ottawa has declared a state of emergency regarding the Canadian truckers’ demonstration, the Freedom Convoy 2022. Ottawa Police have shown up early on Monday, Feb 7, 2022, to take Freedom Convoy’s fuel and to occupy the convoy tents. There were two arrests of 2 people who were not able to provide identification. The Freedom Convoy had remained peaceful and calm. Organizers of Freedom Convoy have asked all truckers to remain calm and cooperate with the police. It is up to the government of Canada to end this demonstration by negotiating with the Freedom Convoy 2022. Two Canadian doctors are also speaking up, in defense of the truckers, because they believe that there is no scientific basis for vaccine mandate.
Canada’s capital city has declared a state of emergency. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson says a blockade by truck drivers is threatening the safety and security of residents. Their ‘Freedom Convoy’ protest began after they were told they needed to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to be able to cross the US border. Over 80% of the Canadians are already vaccinated for COVID.
