Jurors are still deliberating in the trial of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos and a woman who was once considered as Silicon Valley’s visionary, is not yet with a verdict after 36 hours of deliberation in her fraud trial. The core of the trial focuses on whether or not Holmes defrauded investors by making unsubstantiated claims about her revolutionary Edison machine…which didn’t quite exist as it was promised. There is also the question of how many patients’ lives were negatively impacted by false blood tests results from Theranos. But other companies are paving the way in the diagnostics world that can do more with smaller volumes of blood. Here’s what’s really possible, in the video published on Dec 30, 2021, “Theranos was doomed to fail/ Here’s what’s really possible“, below:

How did Tyler’s family connections to Theranos complicate his decision to blow the whistle? What made him finally “out” himself as the whistleblower? What experiences did he have growing up that formed his moral reasoning skills? What factors lead to the unethical culture at Theranos? Hear directly from Tyler Shultz, the Theranos whistleblower, in this interview by Ann Skeet, senior director of Leadership Ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, during an event held at Santa Clara University in the fall of 2018, in the video published on May 22, 2019, “In His Own Words: The Theranos Whistleblower“, below:

Elizabeth Holmes is on trial for fraud over her time at Theranos. As the trial begins to wrap up, many questions have surfaced about what enabled Theranos to rise to such heights. Would the alleged crimes have been possible without the tremendous momentum from angel investors? In the video published on Dec 15, 2021, “Defrauding investors: $945M lost, who’s to blame?” below:
Elizabeth Holmes became the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire as CEO of her biotech startup, Theranos. The former Silicon Valley darling now faces criminal trial and 20 years in prison over the Justice Department’s charges that she used the once-hyped blood testing company to defraud investors. Yahoo Finance is turning the page on Theranos, examining arguments to be raised in Holmes’ defense and the culture that fueled her rise and fall. Interviews with a Theranos board member and employee who have never spoken out, as well as experts on Silicon Valley, raise the possibility that Holmes, rather than being a villain, is a victim of a Silicon Valley ethos that values a perfect pitch over proven results, in the video published on Aug 31, 2021, “Elizabeth Holmes: The ‘Valley of Hype’ behind the rise and fall of Theranos [documentary]” below:
