Over the past week, the uptick in global COVID cases may had been caused by a new COVID variant, B.1.1.529, first discovered in South Africa and now also seen in Botswana, Hong Kong (some one who recently visited South Africa) and possibly in UK. It has 32 mutations in spike protein and its transmissibility is uncertain and may appear to be resistant to immune response. It is highly recommended that every one limit public exposure and if one has to be in public, be sure to mask up. Please be sure to get sufficient rest, be well nourished and getting sufficient vitamin D, C, zinc, potassium, and magnesium, and frequently washing hands.
UK experts have warned that a variant of COVID found in South Africa is likely to evade the immune response generated by prior infection and vaccination, in the video published on Nov 25, 2021, “BREAKING: COVID variant is ‘worst we’ve seen’“, below:

Scientists in South Africa are warning of a new strain of COVID-19. The variant appears to have a high number of mutations. That is of concern, because there’s a possibility it could be able to evade our immune response and be even more transmissible. South Africa has called for an emergency meeting of the World Health Organization to discuss this new variant, in the video published on Nov 25, 2021, “New COVID-19 variant discovered in South Africa | DW News“, below:
Scientists in South Africa detected a new variant of the Covid-19 virus which has multiple mutations. The variant goes by its scientific lineage number B.1.1.529, in the video published on Nov 25, 2021, “South Africa reports new variant of Covid-19 virus with multiple mutations | Oneindia News“, below:
The Africa CDC and the World Health Organization’s Office for Africa say they will be meeting with health authorities from South Africa and Botswana in the coming days after the discovery of a new COVID-19 variant. Locally – genomic sequencing lab, Kwazulu Natal Research and Innovation Sequencing Platform, have confirmed that the variant B.1.1.529, with 32 mutations in the spike protein and uncertain transmissibility, is circulating in the country. The new strain has also been identified in UK, South Africa, and Hong Kong, in the video published on Nov 25, 2021, “Africa CDC and WHO to meet with SA, Botswana over new COVID-19 variant B.1.1.529“, below:
Health Minister Joe Phaahla says the government still needs to meet and decide if there will be any need to restrict movement in the wake of the new COVID variant. The B.1.1.529 strain has been detected in Gauteng but is slowly spreading to other provinces. It was flagged in Tshwane two weeks ago. Phaahla says of the more than 1 200 new COVID-19 cases in the country, 80% are in Gauteng, in the video published on Nov 25, 2021, “COVID-19 Pandemic | Health Department briefs media on latest developments around COVID-19“, below:
