The CDC forecasted that COVID-19 hospital admissions and deaths will rise in the next four weeks, raising concern for those celebrating the holidays with loved ones, in the video published on Nov 24, 2021, “Concern holidays could fuel COVID-19 surge“, below:
Hospitals in Minnesota are dealing with an overwhelming number of COVID-19 patients. Nearly 9,000 patients are in the ICU, and many hospitals can no longer accept new patients. Caroline Cummings, a reporter for CBS Minnesota, joined CBSN’s Tanya Rivero to discuss, in the video published on Nov 24, 2021, “Minnesota hospitals overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients amid surge in new cases“, below:

In Germany, the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections continues to rage out of control. Health minister Jens Spahn says further restrictions are needed to slow the spread of the virus. Here’s a look at the most significant of the new measures in Germany from today on. Anyone going to work or using public transport will need to fulfil at least one of three criteria: be vaccinated, have recently recovered from infection, or show a negative COVID-19 test result. This is known in Germany as the 3G rule. The eastern state of Saxony has already stepped up restrictions after a spike in new infections, but many residents remain skeptical about getting vaccinated, in the video published on Nov 24, 2021, “Germany tightens restrictions as COVID-19 cases soar | DW News“, below:
What exactly does 3G mean?
-
- Recovered (Genesen) means sick with Covid in the last six months.
- Vaccinated (Geimpft) still means two vaccinations (one from Johnson & Johnson), booster vaccination not yet mandated.
- Tested (Getestet) means PCR within 48 hours, rapid test (under official supervision) within 24 hours. Exception: testing at employer’s site itself by provided tests under supervision.
In the warm months of July and August, much of Europe gave the impression the worst of the pandemic was over. But infections are now rising to record levels. The World Health Organization says the region is, once again, the center of the pandemic. Vaccines are readily available, but many people still refuse to take them. So what’s gone wrong? In the video published on Nov 5, 2021, “Why are COVID-19 infections rising sharply in Europe? | Inside Story“, below:
The Belgian capital Brussels is the latest European city to see mass protests and unrest over tighter coronavirus restrictions, in the video published on Nov 21, 2021, “Mass protests against Covid restrictions in European cities – BBC News“, below:
Risk of spontaneous abortion after vaccination Risk of Stillbirth Among Women With and Without COVID-19 at Delivery Hospitalization — United States, March 2020–September 2021, in the video published on Nov 22, 2021, “Spontaneous abortion after vaccine“, below:

It does appear as though the immunity acquired through vaccination would not last as long and as strong/effective as natural immunity acquired through exposure (based on data from Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia, Israeli study, and the current higher COVID surge in states and countries with higher vaccination rate). Regardless if one has acquired immunity through vaccination or through exposure, it is a good idea for one to wash hands frequently, to get good nutrition and sufficient rest, vitamin D, vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and wear mask whenever in public.
