Finally, some one in the health authority position is making sense!
On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed the new Florida Surgeon General for state and secretary of the state’s health department, Dr. Joseph Ladapo. Governor DeSantis said at a news conference, “Joe has had a remarkable academic and medical career. We feel that Joe is just the right guy for the job.” Dr. Ladapo graduated from Harvard Medical School and also has a Ph.D. in health policy from Harvard. He was a health policy researcher and physician at the University of California-Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine.

During the press conference, Dr. Ladapo said he is going to advocate for a public health approach in handling the pandemic and other concerns and will “completely reject fear as a way of making policies.” When asked by reporters about the emphasis that will be placed on vaccination, Dr. Ladapo said he plans to treat the vaccines like “any other preventative issue…The state should be promoting good health, and vaccination isn’t the only path to that. It’s been treated almost like a religion and it’s senseless…We support measures for good health – vaccinations, losing weight, exercising, eating more fruits and vegetables, everything.”
Dr. Ladapo’s approach for overall well being for the general public is the best defense against not just COVID-19 but also all other kinds of bacteria, virus, fungi, etc. It just makes common sense that if a person is not well nourished and not getting sufficient intake of water, nutrients, exercises, and sleep, that person is far more likely not to be able to combat against any kind of viral or bacterial infections.
Unfortunately, much attacks had been bestowed upon Dr. Ladapo because he is not in favor of mandates being the only focus of attention. So, I would like to share with you all, scientific evidence presented by various physicians and/or healthcare professionals of the importance of general well being such as sufficient vitamins, minerals, various nutrients, sleep, exercise, in preventing COVID-19 in addition to vaccinations and masking.

Charles A. Czeisler, MD, PhD, Chief, Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, explains the impact of sleep on brain function and physical health. During sleep, the brain is flushed of toxins and learning experiences are consolidated. Inadequate sleep can impair physical health including a dampening of the immune response, disruption in hormones that regulate weight, reduction in the effectiveness of insulin metabolism and an increased risk for calcification of the arteries. Dr. Czeisler also describes how artificial light exposure can cause our circadian rhythms to be disrupted resulting in shortened sleep cycles or insomnia, in the video published on July 22, 2014, “Impact of Sleep on Health Video — Brigham and Women’s Hospital“, below:
