Though only a small percentage of the overall population that are anti-vaxxers, it is important to try to understand why they have arrived at such a position. The video below helps us to understand the contributing factors to such a position.
Fewer children in the United States are getting vaccinated. That’s bad news for those kids, and also for public health in general. Often, the response is to argue and debate and get angry at people who are we see as making terrible, irrational decisions. Keep in mind that: It does appear as though the best defense against COVID-19 (all variants, esp. Delta variant) is to acquire natural immunity safely and also being vaccinated and wear mask and practice social distancing in public. Given that the risk of hospitalization or death due to vaccine is much lower than that of being infected, it is highly recommended that people get their vaccination in addition to wearing mask and practicing social distance in public during this pandemic.
