Late on the evening of Friday, August 20, 2021, it was reported that a helicopter kept circling over edge of Isleworth and Lake Chase and pulsepoint.org showed a large response for a water rescue at Lake Palmer, at the end of a street in Keene’s Pointe at RD Keene Park boat ramp. According to Richard Radkewich, this is the second preventable drowning this year. In a tweet by Sean Naidenoff of Butler Chain of Lakes, “Another sad day on Butler. Lake is closed because of an accidental death last night at the ramp. OCSO is still investigating. Jet Ski!!“
A dive team could not find the man who had an accident on his jet ski on Friday night, August 20, 2021. The search continued on Saturday morning and his body was recovered at 11:01 am, according to Orange County Sheriff’s office. The victim’s name has not been released. No foul play is suspected in his death, according to OCSO.
Earlier on Friday, August 20, 2021, a juvenile in Melbourne, FL was killed after a watercraft crashed on the Indian River, according to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.
For all who enjoys jet skiing, please be extra careful and please avoid night time jet skiing.
