On late Sunday night, August 2, 2021, Senators have formally introduced the text of the bipartisan (based on a core group of 5 Democratic and 5 Republican senators) infrastructure bill, a $555 Billion package of 2700 pages, waiting to be passed. Senators are set to leave for August recess in a week, so both Democrats and Republicans hope to will have passed the bill before recess. If/when this bill passed the Senate, then it will go to the House. But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had already stated that Democrats want to make sure that investment in child care, elder care, health care, paid leave, rent assistance, and mitigation of climate change will be included in this infrastructure package.
