Jeff Bezos launched into space on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, on the New Shepard rocket built by his company, Blue Origin. Bezos was joined by his brother Mark Bezos, and two history-making passengers: 82-year-old aviation pioneer Wally Funk, the oldest person to fly in space, and Oliver Daemen, an 18-year-old Dutch student who is the youngest ever to fly in space, in the video published on July 20, 2021, “Jeff Bezos launches to space aboard Blue Origin rocket“, below:
Astronaut Mike Massimino attempts to explain what Jeff Bezos’s space flight will be like, in just about the same amount of it will take for Jeff to take the flight. The Blue Origin flight lasts about 11 minutes, there’s no pilots and it’s totally automated. Mike breaks down all the steps of the flight and tires to best to explain what Jeff will experience while in space, in the video published on July 19, 2021, “Former NASA Astronaut Explains Jeff Bezos’s Space Flight | WIRED“, below:
CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” team watches Blue Origin land its booster and Jeff Bezos and his crew float back down to Earth’s surface in their capsule. The crew for Tuesday’s flight is Bezos, who founded Blue Origin and retail giant Amazon, his brother, Mark, aerospace pioneer Wally Funk and Dutch teenager Oliver Daeman, in the video published on July 20, 2021, “Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin crew return as astronauts after historic launch“, below:
The first Blue Origin crew to fly into space — owner Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, aviation trailblazer Wally Funk, and 18-year-old Oliver Daemen — held a press conference after landing to talk about their experience. Watch their remarks, in the video published on July 20, 2021, “How it felt? Oh my God!”: Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin crew speak after spaceflight“, below:
The time has arrived! We’re at the start of a new era of human spaceflight, commercial suborbital rides to the edge of space! And what’s crazy is there isn’t just ONE company doing it, but two companies are entering service at almost the exact same time! Of course we’re talking about Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and their SpaceshipTwo space plane and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin with their New Shepard vehicle, in the video published on July 10, 2021, “Blue Origin VS Virgin Galactic // How do they compare?“, below:
