In response to some accusation about Facebook spreading misinformation about COVID, Facebook Spokesperson made Statement, in italics, below:
“We will not be distracted by accusations which aren’t supported by the facts. The fact is that more than 2 billion people have viewed authoritative information about COVID-19 and vaccines on Facebook, which is more than any other place on the internet. More than 3.3 million Americans have also used our vaccine finder tool to find out where and how to get a vaccine. The facts show that Facebook is helping save lives. Period.“
Facebook has also removed 18 million misleading posts about COVID-19 from Facebook and Instagram since the beginning of the pandemic.
Springfield is a city in Southwest of Missouri, currently an epicenter of Missouri state’s massive COVID outbreak. Pulitzer winning science staff reporter of The Atlantic, Ed Yong said, “Almost every COVID-19 patient in Springfield’s hospital is unvaccinated, and the dozen or so exceptions are all either elderly or immunocompromised people. The vaccines are working as intended, but the number of people who have refused to get their shots is crushing morale.” According to Dr. Ed Yong, “The best chance of surviving COVID is to not get infected in the first place. The best way to get that is to get vaccinated.”
Not only was Tennessee vaccine official Dr. Michelle Fiscus fired for doing her job, but the state is now making it harder for teens to get the Covid vaccine as well as pulling back messaging about any vaccine for children of all ages, in the video published on July 13, 2021, “She Was Fired For Promoting Vaccines.
