The decision to demolish the remaining portion of the Surfside Champlain Towers South was made as a precaution before the arrival of tropical storm Elsa, due to arrive in Florida on Monday or Tuesday of the coming week.

Governor DeSantis said that there will be 100% reimbursement within 30 days for the work being done to remove debris of the Surfside Champlain Towers South building collapse.
