As of Wednesday, May 19, 2021, there are two criminal investigations of former president Donald J. Trump, one by New York Attorney General’s office of Letitia James and another by District of Attorney of Manhatten of Cyrus Vance Jr. Since these are both now ‘criminal’ investigations rather than civil investigations, potentially these cases may go to trial, with much harsher penalties and potential prison time. The two offices are looking into pre-presidential business dealings of former president Trump, people within the Trump Organization, and whether former president Trump manipulated the value of assets (such as Trump Tower and many others), inflating property values to secure bank loans and/or deflating values to receive tax breaks.
Keep in mind that there is a third criminal investigation ongoing in Georgia, with tapes involving president Trump talking to Georgia election official about trying to change the election outcome, leading to the criminal charge of tampering with election outcome. If found guilty at the end of these three investigations, there is definitely the possibility of jail sentence at the end of these investigations.

As indicated in the wikipedia page on Extradition law in the United States (in italics): The Extradition Clause in the US Constitution requires states, upon demand of another state, to deliver a fugitive from justice who has committed a “treason, felony or other crime” to the state from which the fugitive has fled. 18 U.S.C. § 3182 sets the process by which an executive of a state, district, or territory of the United States must arrest and turn over a fugitive from another state, district, or territory.
So even if Trump visits New Jersey or Florida, he would still need to face the consequences of the outcome of these investigations.

A spokesman for the state’s top prosecutor, Letitia James, said the inquiry into Mr Trump’s property company was “no longer purely civil”. Attorney General James has been scrutinizing Trump’s financial dealings before he took office. The Trumps deny wrongdoing and say the inquiry by a Democratic prosecutor is a political vendetta, in the video published on May 19, 2021, with observations from political commentator Jeffrey Kofman “New York prosecutor says Trump inquiry now criminal – BBC News“, below:
