Even though many people have been vaccinated and people’s guard against COVID-19 is diminishing, this post is intended to remind you all to continue being vigilant in taking precaution such as wearing mask, practicing social distancing, washing your hands often, and avoiding unnecessary contacts.
On Friday, March 5, 2021, at a White House briefing, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that the U.S. may soon be hit with a spike in COVID-19 cases, even if USA has administered more vaccine shots than any other nation on earth. The recent post-holiday plateau from record-high cases indicates that Americans should continue masking and brace for another potential high infection rate, based on past COVID data trends.

Fauci said, “We’ve just now recently experienced the worst surge. The issue is that we are starting to plateau. That plateau is about 60,000 to 70,000 cases a day. When you have that much viral activity in a plateau, it almost invariably means that you are at risk of another spike.” He continued, “Many countries in Europe have seen just that over the past week, an increase in cases by 9%, something we desperately want to avoid.”
Anjalee Khemlani of Yahoo Finance reports on concern over surge of COVID-19 cases in Europe and the AstraZeneca vaccine. These countries do not use AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of blood clotting issues, below:

AstraZeneca Chief Medical Officer, Ann Taylor, said, “The nature of the pandemic has led to increased attention in individual cases and we are going beyond the standard practices for safety… monitoring of licensed medicines in reporting vaccine events, to ensure public safety.”
