The match featured famous players such as Viacheslav Fetisov, Valery Kamensky and Alexi Kasatonov, in the video published on March 11, 2021, “Russian Hockey Stars Raise Climate Awareness in Lake Baikal Match, The Moscow Times“, below:
While the Russian government sponsored “The Last Game”, it has also recently rolled back environmental regulations protecting the lake’s already at risk-ecosystem.

An international team of scientists led by the UK Met Office says that a prolonged heatwave in the Siberian Arctic in 2020 was “unequivocal evidence of climate change“. The scientists say that the record rise in temperatures there would be impossible without man-made global warming. This finding is of serious concern because the Arctic drives much of the weather systems in the UK and rest of the Europe, in the video published on July 15, 2020, “New warning over climate change from Siberian Arctic – BBC News“, below:
Arctic sea ice is disappearing faster than we originally thought. A recent research published in the Summer of 2020 finds that it’s not just the sea ice but all of the feedback loops in the region that are gaining pace at an alarming rate, including the atmospheric temperature, the heat stored in the oceans, the release of methane from thawing permafrost, and the melting of the Greenland ice sheet, all contribute to the catastrophic climate change being witnessed every where on planet earth, in the video published on September 13, 2020, “Arctic disintegration is worse than we thought“, below:
Record breaking heatwaves across the Arctic region during the summer of 2020 resulted in the lowest ver recorded October sea ice levels. The persistent warm temperatures caused the thawing of permafrost and sediment on the seabed allowing the release of very high concentrations of methane. IN some cases up to 400 times that of the normal levels. These are all explained in the video published on Nov 15, 2020, “Arctic Methane. Has 2020 triggered a tipping point?” below:
I am a mother/wife/daughter, math professor, solar advocate, world traveler, yogi, artist, photographer, sharer of knowledge/information, and resident of Windermere, FL. I've worked professionally in applied math, engineering, medical research, and as a university math professor in IL and FL for about 20 years. My husband and I loved Disney and moved down to Central Florida initially as snowbirds. But we've come to love the warmth and friendly people offered by this community and decided to move down to Windermere, FL full time in 2006. I am now spending time sharing information/ knowledge online, promoting understanding of math and solar energy (via http://www.sunisthefuture.net ), and developing Windermere Sun (http://www.WindermereSun.com) as an online publication, sharing and promoting Community ABC's (Activities-Businesses-Collaborations) for healthier/happier/more sustainable living. In the following posts, I'll be sharing with you some of the reasons why Windermere has attracted us to become full-time residents of Central Florida region. Please feel free to leave your comments via email at "Contact Us" in the topbar above or via info.WindermereSun@gmail.com.
