The House Democrats introduce article of impeachment, charging President Trump with ‘incitement of insurrection’. President Trump is going down in history as the only president of the United States being impeached twice. There is mounting pressure for speedy removal of Trump from office as more and more arrests of insurgents from last Wednesday, January 6, 2021, take place. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is giving Vice President Mike Pence 24 hours deadline to invoke the 25th Amendment, stripping Trump of his power. If Vice President Mike Pence will not invoke 25th Amendment by the end of the 24 hours, the House will move to impeach Trump this week (most likely on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in the video “House Democrats prep Trump impeachment bill; GOP blocks 25th Amendment ouster-by-Cabinet call, ABC7“, below: NBC’s Kasie Hunt discusses the Capitol Hill riots and says “as terrifying as it was to watch in real time, this attack was more sinister and dangerous than many initially believed.” In the video “Capitol Riot ‘More Sinister And Dangerous’ As Time Goes On, MTP Daily, MSNBC“, below: Katie Couric chatted with Supreme Court lawyer and former US Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal on impeachment, the 14th amendment and 25th amendment. It also provides for the temporary transfer of the president’s powers and duties to the vice president, either on the initiative of the president alone or on the initiative of the vice president together with a majority of the president’s cabinet. In either case, the vice president becomes acting president until the presidential powers and duties are returned to the president. The House of Representatives unveiled its newest impeachment article against President Trump today, saying he incited insurrection at the nation’s Capitol last week.
