For years American adversaries argued democracy is too messy to be trusted, and Wednesday’s event at the Capitol building of Washington D.C. gave them new ammunition. But while many U.S. allies lauded that democracy has prevailed after Joe Biden was certified as the next president, some were worried about the fragility of freedom. Nick Schifrin reports on reactions to the Capitol attack from around the globe, in the video “Insurrection at Capitol draws condemnation across the globe“, below:

*25th Amendment of the United States Constitution is being seriously discussed.*It is time to consider reducing the power of POTUS or consider implementing parliamentary Democratic system. It is too dangerous to leave too much power in any one person. Those who resigned after the event at Capitol building at DC yesterday, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, below:
Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said in a statement that she is resigning, becoming the first Cabinet member to leave the administration in the wake of President Donald Trump’s response to a mob of his supporters breaching the US Capitol. “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the U.S. Department of Transportation,” she tweeted, with a statement on the resignation. In the statement, addressed to the agency she led, Chao wrote that she will resign effective Monday and was “deeply troubled” by the “entirely avoidable” events at the Capitol building. “I am tremendously proud of the many accomplishments we were able to achieve together for our country and I will never forget the commitment you have for this Department and the United States of America,” her statement continued, in the video “Elaine Chao first Trump Cabinet member to resign in wake of riot“, below:

At least eight administration officials have resigned, including two Cabinet members, after President Trump’s supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Weijia Jiang reports, in the video “Senior administration officials resign after deadly Capitol riot“, below:
These GOP cabinet members are saying that Trump should not be in office. Can America afford two more weeks of having some one with the ambition for autocracy remaining in office (keep in mind that he has the nuclear codes). It also sets a terrible precedent for any future Presidents of the United States if there is no consequence for the act of destroying democracy.
