Shortly after midnight, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Rev. Raphael Warnock delivered a message of hope to Georgians and declared his win in the Senate runoff election: ‘Whether you voted for me or not – know this: I see you. I hear you. And I will fight for you.’ Democratic Senate candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock will defeat GOP candidate Kelly Loeffler, CNN projects. Rafael Warnock and Jon Ossoff have defeated Perdue and Loeffler to win the Georgia Senate seats, and the Democrats have taken Control of the senate. Dave Wasserman has called this. This means that the 50-50 Senate will have ties broken by Vice President Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden will have more Power. It also means Mitch McConnell loses his job as majority leader, and Bernie Sanders becomes Budget Committee Chair.
