Pending FDA approval, safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines could reach the first wave of Americans in a matter of weeks, in the video “Covid vaccines are coming: What’s inside, and how and when you’ll get one, NOVA Now, PBS“, below: Moderna’s vaccine is more stable than Pfizer’s and does not need to be diluted (from 9:10 above). Pfizer’s shares dropped after a report said the U.S. drugmaker expects to ship half of the Covid-19 vaccines it originally planned for this year due to supply-chain problems. Pfizer is now planning to ship 50 million vaccines by the end of the year, down from the original 100 million it hoped to send out initially. Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA commissioner, joins Shepard Smith to discuss potential supply chain issues, in the video “I’m hopeful we’ll have enough Covid-19 supply in 2021: Dr. Gottlieb on Pfizer vaccine rollout“, below: Moderna said it would ask US and European regulators to allow emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine as new study results confirm the vaccine offers strong protection against the coronavirus. Moderna said it will ask the US FDA for emergency use authorization after completing its Phase 3 trial which found the vaccine to be almost 95% effective against COVID.
