Response from Presidential Election 2020 is mixed.
President Donald Trump is refusing to concede the election after NBC News and other outlets projected that Joe Biden has defeated him in the race for the White House. “The simple fact is this election is far from over,” Trump said in a statement released just minutes after NBC projected Biden to be the winner, in the video “Trump refuses to accept election results, says it’s ‘far from over’“, below:
Across the country, pro-Trump protestors have gathered at state capitols in response to the election results, in the video “President Trump refuses to concede“, below:
President Trump’s wife has reportedly joined a growing list of people urging the President to humbly admit defeat after his election loss, in the video “First Lady Melania urges President Trump to concede defeat“, below:
Jared Kushner has approached Trump about conceding the election. President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has tried to talk him into conceding the election, CNN reported late Saturday, in the video “Jared Kushner has approached Trump about conceding the election“, below:
‘He’s going to leave the White House, either voluntarily or with a little bit of help’ — Sen. Chris Murphy explains what will likely happen if Trump doesn’t concede, in the video “Sen. Chris Murphy Explains What Happens If Trump Doesn’t Concede, Now This“, below:
The reason even Trump’s family members are asking him to concede is because this is not a close race. As of 6:00 am on Monday, November 9, 2020, the presidential election 2020 results are listed below:
- Electoral votes result so far: Biden has 290 & Trump has 214
- Popular votes result so far: Biden has 75,404,182 & Trump has 70,903,094
In 2016, the presidential election result was a much closer race (Clinton had more popular votes than Trump but Clinton had fewer electoral votes than Trump), listed below:
- Electoral votes result in 2016: Trump had 304 & Clinton had 227
- Popular votes result in 2016: Trump had 62,980,160 & Clinton had 65,845,063
Democracy has given a politically inexperienced Donald J. Trump a chance to be the President of the United States in 2016, but has decided that his service is no longer needed in 2020. As evidenced by variety of cartoons that’s been circulating via Twitter during past two days, such as the one below:

United States of America is ready to heal. United States of America is ready to regain her leadership position on the world stage in tackling earthly problems such as climate change and serious pandemic issues. United States of America is ready to take care of Americans’ health care, education, and better treatment of immigrants and people from different backgrounds. Most importantly, United States of America is ready to be unified to continue this greatest experiment on earth.
