The long awaited September 22, 2020, is here ! Any event ever hosted by Elon Musk/Tesla has always been charged with electric enthusiasm, full of anticipation for what’s in store for our future, as though Elon Musk is the ultimate magician of 21st century, knowing exactly what we earthlings need and want.Due to COVID-19, audience of Tesla Battery Day were all sitting in their respective cars, honking as they became excited about the future of Tesla and sustainable energy.
Elon Musk, forever on his quest in saving our planet by helping to accelerate our transition toward the sustainable energy. On Tesla Battery Day, he reminds us that wind and solar now comprise 75% of new electricity capacity in the U.S. this year and power production from coal has dropped 50% during past ten years. Tesla’s contribution to the acceleration toward sustainable energy, below:
Tesla delivered more than 1 million electric vehicles.
More than 26 billion miles were driven in Tesla electric vehicles.
5 GWh (gigawatt hour) of stationary batteries.
17TWh (terawatt hour) of solar power generated.
Musk stated that:
Solar will be a massive part of the Tesla’s future.
Three parts of the sustainable energy future: energy generation, energy storage, and electric vehicles.
To achieve the transition to sustainable energy, we must produce more affordable EVs and energy storage, while building factories faster and with far less investment.
Goal Two: More Affordable Cells/Cars. Problem: EV market share is growing but EVs still aren’t accessible to all yet.
Tesla has a plan to halve the cost per KWh
Elon Musk reinvents Battery Cell, creating the all-new Battery Design within Tesla Battery, presented on Tesla Battery day, September 22, 2020. There are a lot of features. Here is the full version of Elon Musk’s speech at Tesla Baterry Event on September 22, 2020. Elon declared Tesla’s wishes to increase production of Cybertruck, Roadster and Semi in a long-term perspective. Current high-volume production of these and other cars will not be seriously affected until 2022. Tesla is going to save their current collaborations with Panasonic, LG and CATL, in the video “FULL Elon Musk’s presentation of Tesla’s new battery cell design at Tesla Battery Day 2020“, below:
Yes, once again, Elon Musk has emboldened our dream of transitioning toward the 100% sustainable/renewable energy future in our life time!
Electric cars and solar panels seem like a match made in heaven: free, clean power as long as the sun shines. A self reliant, solar car that’s not dependent on the power grid could recharge sustainably from anywhere you dare to venture. Let’s take a look at the solar future on a Tesla in the video “Solar Panels on a Tesla“, below:
Postmortem of Tesla’s Battery Day Announcement (Sept. 22nd, 2020) with guests Sandy Munro & Bob Galyen, in the video “Tesla Battery Day Postmortem with Sandy Munro and Bob Galyen-Autoline Exclusive LIVE“, below:
I am a mother/wife/daughter, math professor, solar advocate, world traveler, yogi, artist, photographer, sharer of knowledge/information, and resident of Windermere, FL. I've worked professionally in applied math, engineering, medical research, and as a university math professor in IL and FL for about 20 years. My husband and I loved Disney and moved down to Central Florida initially as snowbirds. But we've come to love the warmth and friendly people offered by this community and decided to move down to Windermere, FL full time in 2006. I am now spending time sharing information/ knowledge online, promoting understanding of math and solar energy (via http://www.sunisthefuture.net ), and developing Windermere Sun (http://www.WindermereSun.com) as an online publication, sharing and promoting Community ABC's (Activities-Businesses-Collaborations) for healthier/happier/more sustainable living. In the following posts, I'll be sharing with you some of the reasons why Windermere has attracted us to become full-time residents of Central Florida region. Please feel free to leave your comments via email at "Contact Us" in the topbar above or via [email protected]
