Goldberg reported that “Trump said, ‘Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.’” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Woodas ‘suckers’ for getting killed.” Goldberg also wrote that “The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members, and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, multiple sources tell The Atlantic.“It is the goal at Windermere Sun to create balanced reporting, displaying both sides of the story. So, videos from both sides are gathered and presented below:James LaPorta, investigative reporter for the Associated Press, talks with Rachel Maddow about his own reporting that confirms some of the episodes described in an Atlantic article depicting Donald Trump deriding military service and injured veterans, in the video “AP Report Corroborates Some Atlantic Stories Of Trump Deriding Veterans, Military Service, MSNBC“, below:
Rachel Maddow reports on several news outlets that followed a report in the Atlantic of Donald Trump disparaging veterans and military service with matching reporting of their own, including Fox News, rendering denials from the Trump camp hollow, in the video “Multiple News Outlets Mirror Report Of Trump Denigrating Veterans, Military Service, MSNBC“, below:
Former defense secretary Chuck Hageltalks to CNN’s Jim Acosta about President Trump’s remarks about former White House chief of staff John Kelly at a White House press briefing, in the video “Former Defense Secretary Hagel on Trump’s comments: It’s degrading and despicable“, below:
Trump denies report he called fallen U.S. troops ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’, police union defends officers involved in death of Daniel Prude, and millions still struggling as U.S. unemployment rate falls in August, in the video “NBC Nightly News Broadcast (FULL)- September 4th, 2020, NBC Nightly News“, below:
President Trump strongly denied an Atlantic story that he had called fallen U.S. service members “losers” and “suckers.” He also slammed the press and his former chief of staff, John Kelly, who has not commented on the report and was with the president on the day the alleged remarks were made. Watch his remarks, in the video “Trump slams Atlantic article on his alleged comments about fallen U.S. service members“, below:
It would be appalling and disturbing if any POTUS (President of the United States) could not understand the concept of greater good, patriotism, service, and the sacrifices our wounded veterans and killed soldiers have given to provide the freedom enjoyed by all Americans. I am a mother/wife/daughter, math professor, solar advocate, world traveler, yogi, artist, photographer, sharer of knowledge/information, and resident of Windermere, FL. I've worked professionally in applied math, engineering, medical research, and as a university math professor in IL and FL for about 20 years. My husband and I loved Disney and moved down to Central Florida initially as snowbirds. But we've come to love the warmth and friendly people offered by this community and decided to move down to Windermere, FL full time in 2006. I am now spending time sharing information/ knowledge online, promoting understanding of math and solar energy (via http://www.sunisthefuture.net ), and developing Windermere Sun (http://www.WindermereSun.com) as an online publication, sharing and promoting Community ABC's (Activities-Businesses-Collaborations) for healthier/happier/more sustainable living. In the following posts, I'll be sharing with you some of the reasons why Windermere has attracted us to become full-time residents of Central Florida region. Please feel free to leave your comments via email at "Contact Us" in the topbar above or via info.WindermereSun@gmail.com.
