Former US president Barack Obama has criticised the Trump administration for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic in a leaked call with thousands of alumni from his administration. “What we’re fighting against is these long term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy -that has become a stronger impulse in American life,” he said. “It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty.” As a result of those trends, Mr Obama said the Trump administration’s response to COVID-19 had been an “absolutely chaotic disaster” because of its “what’s in it for me and to heck with everybody else” mindset, in the video “Obama criticizes Trump administration’s handling of COVID-19 crisis in leaked call“, below:
