Despite all of the fear and uncertainty permeating our globe due to novel coronavirus (aka COVID-19), one coastal city on this planet, Bacolod City of Philippines, continued its tradition of annual mass wedding since 2013 on Thursday, February 20, 2020. There were 220 couples saying “I do” with all participants kissing through the required blue surgical masks.
These couples taking part in the mass ceremony had to provide the authorities with evidence of their travel history for 14 days prior to the ceremony, the standard quarantine period for people arriving from China and the incubation period for the COVID-19 virus. The mayor of Bacolod City, Evelio Leonardia presided over the ceremony.
