Update on the Senate Impeachment Trial: Only two Republicans voted to call witnesses in the impeachment trial: Senators Susan Collins and Mitt Romney, ending with 49:51, the vote outcome is not to hear from witnesses, in the video “Senate Democrats’ push for new witnesses voted down“, below:
Chief Justice John Roberts says it would have been “inappropriate” for him to cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, in the video “Chief Justice John Roberts reveals what he would’ve done with tie vote“, below:
Republicans have opened the pandora’s box, allowing the possibility of abuse of power.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the last true publicly undecided Republican senator, said she would oppose witnesses in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Murkowski also said in a statement, “Given the partisan nature of this impeachment from the very beginning and throughout, I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fair trial in the Senate. I don’t believe the continuation of this process will change anything. It is sad for me to admit that, as an institution, the Congress has failed. It has also become clear some of my colleagues intend to further politicize this process, and drag the Supreme Court into the fray, while attacking the Chief Justice. I will not stand for nor support that effort.” In the video “Sen. Lisa Murkowski to vote ‘no’ on witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial“, below:
Senator Lisa Murkowski, a Republican senator, is essentially saying that the Republican Senate is not capable of having a fair trial. Her vote of “No” to having witnesses at the trial means she is entirely derelict in her responsibility as a United States Senator. Either she does not truly appreciate the essence of a fair trial, or she cares too much about being re-elected. The Congress did not fail, but Senator Murkowski has certainly failed!
The vote outcome of this senate trial clearly indicates the necessity for term limit for Congress, especially the Senate.
It would have been a fair trial if it were conducted with the inclusion of pertinent witnesses and documents and final secret ballot when casting the final vote. It is especially sad because 75% of the Americans support calling witnesses. Even though RNC chairman Michael Steele said “America’s future is now in the voters hands,” but America’s future will not be in American voters’ hands if the American election will not be secured. It is very unfortunate for America that Lisa Murkowski is not interested in playing the hero in the last stand.
Jason Johnson expresses his displeasure at former Amb. John Bolton‘s leaks from his books, saying that is shows that he knew what was going on, yet would not testify and will not speak out because he wants to sell his book, in the video “Johnson: Bolton Leaks ‘Disgust Me,’ Show He Won’t Tell The Truth Until You Can Buy His Book, MSNBC“, below:
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., says an ‘enormous stain’ will be left on the Senate if the president is acquitted. Sen. Murphy also says Senate Republicans are putting themselves ahead of the country, in the video “Acquittal Would Leave An ‘Enormous Stain’ On The Senate, Says Senator, Morning Joe, MSNBC“, below:
Lev Parnas‘ attorney sent a letter to Mitch McConnell detailing testimony he would provide if called, saying he has both personal knowledge, as well as and physical and documentary evidence “directly relevant” to the impeachment inquiry, in the video “Lev Parnas Lawyer Details Testimony In Letter To Mitch McConnell, Names Names, MSNBC“, below:
Former RNC chairman Michael Steele gives his advice to former Amb. John Bolton, in the video “The Senate Is A Wasteland’: Michael Steele Says America’s Future Is Now In The Voters Hands, MSNBC“, below:
The question is: what if the election will not be secured? Will our democracy be converted into monarchy?
The New York Times is reporting that former national security adviser John Bolton’s book manuscript says President Trump directed him to help with the Ukraine pressure campaign in early May, two months before Trump infamous call with Ukrainian President Zelensky. The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman shares more, in the video “NYT: Bolton book says Trump directed him to help with Ukraine pressure“, below:
Again, please note: Sen. CNN’s chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin says President Trump is guilty, but he won’t be removed from office and says there are GOP senators who agree to his guilt, in the video “Jeffrey Toobin: The President is guilty“, below:
