On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 5: 18 pm, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) signed the articles of impeachment against President Trump before they were sent to the Senate, in the video “Pelosi signs impeachment articles against President Trump“, below:
Earlier on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the House voted to appoint seven Democratic lawmakers to manage the trial before the Senate.
An engrossed resolution (the official final copy of something passed by the House) voted to forward the measures to the upper chamber also earlier on Wednesday. Speaking on the Senate floor, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made the case for a thorough impeachment trial into President Donald Trump’s conduct. Schumer spoke before the House of Representatives voted to send two articles of impeachment—abuse of power and obstruction of Congress—to the Senate.
