Christianity Today, a publication founded by the late evangelical leader Rev. Billy Graham, made a rare political statement in an editorial on Thursday, December 19, 2019, calling President Donald Trump’s character “grossly immoral,” writing that he should be impeached and removed from office, in the video “Top Christian magazine: Remove Trump“, below:

On Sunday, Christianity Today Editor in Chief, Mark Galli, acknowledged to MSNBC that the magazine has lost subscribers in the wake of the op-ed calling for Trump’s removal from office. However, three times as many people have also started to subscribe to the magazine.
A leading Christian magazine founded by late evangelist Billy Graham published an op-ed calling for President Donald Trump to be removed from office and urging evangelicals not to support him. The magazine’s editor-in-chief Mark Galli joins CNN, in the video “Christianity Today editor responds to Trump’s attack“, below:
Mark Galli, the editor in chief of the prominent evangelical magazine Christianity Today, says it’s largely the administration’s pro-life policies that continue to resonate with his supporters. Our panel of political experts weigh in on Trump’s impeachment and what’s trending on the 2020 campaign trail, in the video “Face The Nation: Mark Galli, Ramesh Ponnuru, Jamelle Bouie, Seung Min Kim, David Sanger“, below:
Christianity Today, the magazine that called for the president’s removal from office, is defending its decision to speak out even as Trump’s evangelical supporters and Trump himself push back, in the video “Evangelicals Defend Trump After Evangelical Magazine Calls For His Removal, Morning Joe, MSNBC“, belw:
Mark Galli, editor in chief of Christianity Today, said, “Whether Mr. Trump should be removed from office by the Senate or by popular vote next election-that is a matter of prudential judgment….that he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments.” Galli told CNN that he is leaving the publication and “We believe the impeachment hearings have made it absolutely clear, in a way the Mueller investigation did not, that President Trump has abused his authority for personal gain and betrayed his constitutional oath. The impeachment hearings have illuminated the president’s moral deficiencies for all to see….None of the president’s positives can balance the moral and political danger we face under a leader of such grossly immoral character….To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record, we might say this: Remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior. Consider what an unbelieving world will say if you continue to brush off Mr. Trump’s immoral words and behavior in the cause of political expediency.”
Hours before the historic Trump impeachment vote in Congress, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman joins Ari Melber to talk about the Times’ stinging editorial titled “Impeach,” which outlines a “simple and damning” case against Trump. Melber reports on how top newspapers are supporting impeachment, a journalistic development that shows grave concerns about Trump’s fitness for office – and a departure from Clinton’s impeachment, where newspapers condemned Bill Clinton’s conduct, but largely opposed the impeachment, in the video “‘Thug’,’Threat’:Endorsing Impeachment, Top Newspapers Unload On Trump, MSNBC“, below:
