Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to hold a “fair trial” of President Donald Trump if the House of Representatives votes to impeach him as expected. Schumer said he sent a letter to McConnell on Sunday outlining rules on witnesses and documents that he said would ensure senators can make a “fully informed decision” on whether to convict or acquit Trump of the charges included in the articles of impeachment. - Mick Mulvaney, acting White House chief of staff
- John Bolton, former national security adviser
- Michael Duffey, associate director for national security
- Robert Blair, senior adviser to Mick Mulvaney
II. with proposed rules, listed below:
- each side given maximum of 24 hrs to present case
- each side allowed maximum of 4 hrs per witness
III. Thus far, White House had not allowed witnesses above to testify and various documentations to be provided.
IV. The White House wants to see witnesses such as the whistleblower(s) and Bidens
