House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against the president and a full House vote is expected next week. Trump is just the fourth president in U.S. history to face impeachment, which could be approved by next week on the House floor. The vote outcome of the two articles of impeachment to impeach President Donald J. Trump, voted by the House Judiciary Committee:
- Abuse of Power: 23 yes and 17 no (Ted Lieu was absent due to medical reason)
- Obstruction of Congress: 23 yes and 17 no (Ted Lieu was absent due to medical reason)
The vote outcome is very much partisan.
After a 14-hour session arguing and debating to mark up the two articles of impeachment, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said shortly after 11 p.m. that the committee would instead vote on the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Friday morning, in the video “Surprise End To Day Of Debate On Articles Of Impeachment-Day That Was, MSNBC“, below:
