On Friday evening, December 6, 2019, the Supreme Court granted President Trump’s third request to prevent disclosure of his financial records. Trump’s personal lawyers filed an emergency action asking the Supreme Court to block the impact of a lower appeals court ruling issued 3 days earlier, stating that he must turn over a broad range of financial records that two committees in the Democratically controlled House subpoenaed from a pair of banks )Deutsche Bank and Capital One) that have done business with Trump. Soon afterward, the Supreme Court stayed the appeals court ruling until Dec. 13, 2019, and directed the House committees to file their legal arguments in response to Trump’s by Dec. 11, 2019.
