The House Judiciary Committee is set to hold its first impeachment hearing and vote on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. The president has until Friday, December 6, 2019, 5:00 pm, to decide whether his lawyer will participate in the upcoming proceeding. The panel has offered an invite to President Trump and will decide whether to recommend articles of impeachment against him to the full House. “In anticipation of consideration of these matters, I am writing to determine if your counsel will seek to exercise the specific privileges set forth in the judiciary committee’s impeachment procedures. In particular, please provide the committee with notice of whether your counsel intends to participate, specifying which of the privileges your counsel seeks to exercise, no later than 5:00 pm on December 6, 2019.“
