For those of you who have ever visited Disney Animal Kingdom’s “It’s A Bug’s Life”, you’ve been exposed to 4DX Cinema. And many believe that this is the technology that would bring people back to the theaters.
4DX Next Generation Movie Cinemas – (Total Immersive Environment EFX Theatre) are the newest evolution in the 4D cinema experience. In a total immersive environment where you actually “feel” the action on the screen, from the seats you are sitting in to the effects around you. Providing a revolutionary cinematic experience which stimulates all five senses, the 4DX includes high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents, in both 2D and 3D formats. 4DX is the brand name of the cinema company created by CJ 4DPLEX, a South Korean company. More than 660 Hollywood and local titles have been screened in 4DX. CJ 4DPLEX is operating 678 4DX theaters in 65 countries. As of September 2019, through partnerships with more than 80 theaters worldwide, including Wanda Cinemas, Cineworld, and Cinepolis. 4DX has recorded annual growth of more than 50 percent in the past five years since 2013. CJ 4DPLEX aims to open a total of 750 4DX theaters by the end of 2019.
