On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at 1:00 pm, a group of concerned citizens and residents of Orange County unveiled the “Soil and Water Conservation District” sign for the first time, at two sites: 1. Intersection of North Orange Ave. and Mary Louis Lane (Rave) corner site towards Osceola County 2. County Road 15, Narcoossee Rd. and Osceola Parkway (by wildlife-Nature park. You will find the statement by Supervisor Daisy Morales, in italics, below:
Soil and water conservation is vital to our quality of life here in Orange County. Our Conservation District works hard to inform our residents and local farmers about soil and water conservation tips, grants, and programs; while also working to protect our green spaces.
Last year, I was honored to partner with Commissioner Emily Bonilla and Orange County Public Works to install Orange Soil and Water Conservation District signs in two places in District 5; one on Chuluota Road and one on Dean Road on the Orange-Seminole County line. It was a historical first for our Conservation District.
Today, with the help of Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero and Orange County Public Works, we’re excited to announce that we’ve also installed these signs in District 4: one on Orange Avenue and one on Narcoossee Road, on the Orange-Osceola County line.
Thank you, Commissioner Cordero, for having a vision for environmental sustainability and also joining me in installing these signs.
The Orange Soil and Water Conservation District will continue to help bring awareness of freely green designated spaces and bring more protection to our natural resources.
This will promote sustainability and encourage travelers to help protect the area.
