An article titled, “‘Like a kamikaze pilot destroying America’: Experts outraged after Trump quietly moves to pull out of treaty for monitoring Russia” in rawstory.com really got my attention. So, why is the author of this article making such a strong statement? Please also refer to videos below, covering recent events of Trump pulling troops out of Syria, Turkey’s attack of U.S. allies soon after Trump stands down, and Trump issuing warning to Turkey:
Turkey began a planned military offensive into northeastern Syria on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, launching airstrikes and artillery fire across the border just days after the Trump administration announced it was pulling US troops back from the area. The operation is aimed at pushing Kurdish forces, who were a key ally of the US in the fight against ISIS — away from Turkey’s border. “Our aim is to destroy the terror corridor which is trying to be established on our southern border and to bring peace and peace to the region,” Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tweeted as he announced the start of the operation. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who operate in the area are US allies. They are led by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, in the video “Turkey attacks U.S. allies after Trump stands down“, below:
Outrage is growing after the president announced he would pull troops from Syria as Turkey plans an invasion. Former Congresswoman Jane Harman joins Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle to break down the increasing fallout over this decision and to discuss the relationship between Turkey and the Kurds, in the video “Chaos In Syria, DC After President Donald Trump Pulls U.S. Troops, Velshi & Ruhle, MSNBC“, below:
President Trump says he will ‘wipe out’ Turkey’s economy if President Erdogan wipes out the Kurds, in the video “Trump issues dire warning to Turkey over Syria invasion“, below:
“The View” co-hosts weigh in on Pres. Trump sparking bipartisan backlash for his decision to have U.S. forces in Syria pull back and make way for Turkish troops, in the video “Republicans Criticize Trump Over Syria, Part 1, The View“, below:
Turkey has begun its attack against Kurdish forces in northern Syria. This comes after President Trump announced the removal of U.S. troops along the border between Syria and Turkey. Robert Ford, former U.S. ambassador to Syria, joined CBSN to discuss the U.S. relationship with the Kurds, in the video “U.S. accused of turning its back on Kurds after Trump pulls troops from Syria“, below:
