Heading Toward Constitutional Crisis

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
The speed at which the subpoena is issued for U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Soundland, today is lightening and necessary, after Soundland did not show and the White House demonstrated no interest in cooperating with the impeachment probe.
In a White House letter to congressional Democrats, President Trump’s lawyers said the President and his administration won’t cooperate in an ongoing impeachment inquiry because it will interfere with Presidential responsibilities, in the video “White House: Trump will not cooperate with impeachment probe“, below:
After the Trump administration barred a key witness from testifying, the White House informed congressional Democrats that it will not cooperate with their impeachment inquiry. Democrats said they are subpoenaing the U.S. ambassador to the E.U., and suggested blocking testimony may be an impeachable offense. Lisa Desjardins reports, then joins Yamiche Alcindor and Judy Woodruff for more, in the video “Trump escalates impeachment battle, refusing to cooperate with inquiry“, below:
Axios’ Jonathan Swan, former senior FBI official Chuck Rosenberg, former acting solicitor general Neal Katyal, and Washington Post’s Ashley Parker on the president stonewalling the impeachment inquiry by blocking the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, from testifying in front of Congress, in the video “Trump Declares War On The Impeachment Inquiry, Deadline, MSNBC“, below:
Axios’ Jonathan Swan, MoveOn’s Karine Jean-Pierre, the Daily Beast’s Betsy Woodruff Swan, and Washington Post’s Ashley Parker on how support for the impeachment inquiry is growing, and is much higher it was than during the Mueller investigation, in the video “Nearly Two-Thirds Of Americans Support Impeachment Inquiry, Deadline, MSNBC“, below:
House Democrats send a subpoena to a key witness in the impeachment inquiry, seeking information and testimony from U.S. ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland. The subpoena comes just hours after the Trump State Department blocked Sondland from testifying before three Democratic committees. Former federal prosecutor John Flannery, former CIA officer David Priess, and former NSC official Katrina Mulligan join The Beat, in the video “Dems Dial Up Heat In Impeachment Probe As Trump Stonewalls Text Message Evidence, MSNBC“, below:
Foreign Policy Expert David Rothkopf joins The Beat to discuss Trump’s attempt to stonewall key evidence and witnesses in the impeachment inquiry. Rothkopf argues Trump is ‘playing a game’ by saying he ‘doesn’t believe in the legitimacy of the Congress’ and ‘past precedent’ to impeach the President. Rothkopf adds Trump’s blatant attempt to defy the probe, as stated in the White House’s newly released letter, will result in the Constitution being ‘tested’ by the ‘Court’ or by ‘Congress taking action’ and putting somebody ‘in jail.’ in the video “Escalation: Trump Response To Impeachment Probe Courts ‘Constitutional Crisis’, MSNBC“, below:
Keep in mind that U.S. Constitution has only given the power or authority to impeach the executive branch by the Congress.
