On Friday, September 20, 2019, four million people walked out of their jobs, schools, and homes in response to the call from youth organizers. The Global Climate Strikes is the biggest distributed climate mobilization ever! The Global Climate Strikes kicked off a week of action in which more than 5,800 events will take place in 163 countries all over the planet earth. Over 7,370 websites shut down and around 3,000 companies closed their doors in support of people striking. There are still more actions to come. check out the map to see if there’s one happening near you.

Here in Central Florida, many passionate and creative individuals and organizations brought their family, friends, and messages on Friday, September 20, 2019, to demonstrate in front of the Orlando City Hall (400 S. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL, 1:00 pm EDT), Lake Eola Park (512 E. Washington St., Orlando, FL, 3:00 pm EDT), and Sanford (Lake Monroe, Sanford, FL, 4:00 pm EDT). Their energy is infectious, their voices are unified, and their messages are clear. They want the U.S. government to establish comprehensive policy to slow down climate change, and to encourage others to go solar and renewables, to increase use of mass transportation, to drive electric vehicles, and to eat less meat. Allow me to share some of their messages with you, below:
