The Yang campaign indicated that the money would come from campaign funds directly. Some raised issue about its legality. But Yang assured host of CNN Jake Tapper that his “army of lawyers” all signed off on the plan and said he would not gain the same scrutiny if he gave that money to a media company or consultants. “But if we give the money directly to the American people, somehow that’s problematic. So it just speaks how messed up our system is where giving money directly to Americans actually raises eyebrows.”
Within 72 hours after Andrew Yang’s announcement, his campaign received over 450,000 entries for this program and over $1,000,000 in campaign donations from his supporters and those who were watching the debate. This is definitely an indication of the American people’s support for Yang’s Freedom Dividend. In addition to Freedom Dividend, Andrew Yang is a person full of solutions.
