Supreme Court Allows White House To Tap Pentagon Funds For Border Wall

On Friday, July 2, 2019, at a vote of 5:4, the U.S. Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump a victory by letting his administration redirect 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in money approved by the U.S. Congress for the Pentagon to help build his promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border even though lawmakers refused to provide funding. Keep in mind that Trump’s campaign promise was that the Mexicans would be paying for the border wall, not the Americans.

On Friday President Trump signed what’s described as a “safe third country” agreement with Guatemala, which requires immigrants who pass through Guatemala on their way to the U.S., to seek asylum in Guatemala instead of at the U.S. border. And there was also a Supreme Court ruling regarding the president’s promised border wall.
