To once again explain the reason behind this Day of Action, below:
Alabama’s new law mandating an almost blanket ban on abortion, the strictest in the United States, was passed by 25 white male politicians, all of whom are Republicans. Lawmakers approved the legislation after a debate that stretched more than four hours on last Tuesday, where minority Democrats introduced a slew of amendments in an attempt to block it. There are only four women in the Alabama senate, who are among the eight-strong Democratic party minority in the upper chamber of the state legislature. “This bill is about control,” the state senator Linda Coleman-Madison told the bill’s proponents, in the video “What female senators had to say about Alabama’s abortion bill“, below:
Renewed efforts to make abortions harder to obtain in several U.S. states have sparked protests. In the last year, several states including Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio and Kentucky have passed so-called heartbeat bills. The bills ban abortion as soon as a heartbeat can be detected — which could be as early as six weeks into pregnancy. Last week, Alabama made it illegal for doctors to perform abortions even in cases of rape and incest, in the video “Tougher abortion laws spark protests in U.S.“, below:

Alabama’s Republican-controlled state senate passed a bill last Tuesday to outlaw abortion, making it a crime to perform the procedure at any stage of pregnancy, reactions toward this in the video “Pro-choice supporters protest against Alabama’s abortion ban“, below:
The state Senate approved a bill that would not provide exemptions for rape or incest. The law is expected to face almost immediate legal challenge if it is signed into law by the governor, in the video “Pro and anti-abortion rights activists on future of Alabama abortion bill“, below:

Senators in the US state of Alabama are voting on a bill which would outlaw almost all abortions in any stage of pregnancy, in video “Alabama latest US state to vote on anti-abortion legislation“, below:
“The Handmaid’s Tale” costume is turning into the new go-to protest attire for women. In the Hulu show, the handmaids are forced to wear the red cloak and bonnet as a symbol of oppression in a male-dominated society. In reality, some women are wearing the uniform as a sign of protest. The show and costumes became a trending topic on Twitter after women in red showed up to protest the controversial abortion bill that just passed the Senate in Alabama effectively banning the procedure, in the video “Women Wear ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Outfits to Protest Abortion Bill“, below:

Protesters rallied around the Missouri Capitol on Friday while lawmakers were giving final approval to a bill banning abortion beyond eight weeks of pregnancy. The wide-ranging legislation would be among the strictest abortion laws in the nation, in the video “Raw video: Missouri activists protest abortion ban legislation“, below:

According to Guttmacher Institute:
- 70% of the Americans do not want Roe v. Wade overturned.
- one in four women has an abortion before age 45.
- 59% of the women getting abortion are already mothers.
- 49% of the women getting abortion live under the poverty line.
